Reader's Journal
"For one more day" was a haunting and emotional story, it had me crying at the end and it was an enjoyable one too. I felt a connection with the main character, "Chick," and as he took me through the rollercoaster ride of his life, he made me realize how much we should all appreciate our family, especially our mother's. It was trully a touching story, and i enjoyed every chapter. As soon as i finished the book, When I got home I went up to my mom, gave her a big hug and told her how much I love her and appreciate her. Because during the story the author asked us a question, "Are you a daddy's boy or are you a momma's boy?" and of course it led to the choices he made in life. The main character ended up regreting his choices and mistakes he made when he lost someone that had a huge impact in his life, his mother, she was a strong woman that worked all the time just to take care of her children. The book took me through and emotional ride full of anger, disappointment, sadness, happiness, along with satisfaction, it was just really emotional. Of course the character's went through their own struggles in life and it also teaches you a lesson, along with appreciating what you have and making the right choices. At the end, the main character lost his life and did not get a chance to fix his mistakes, and I was left heartbroken. I didn't want the book to end like this but I could always read it again because it's such an amazing story, I just had to buy the book and it took me a while to get it.
